The arrangement, in plain terms

Polaris Network is published by D.J. TECH PRAHA s.r.o. and is funded by advertising. The advertising takes one form: paid links to TotalAV. When a reader follows one of those links and goes on to subscribe, the publisher is paid a commission by the advertising network that placed the link. No other page element on this site is paid for, and there is no other source of revenue.

The reader pays the vendor's ordinary price. The commission is paid out of the vendor's side of the transaction, not added to yours, and following a link from this site does not change what you are charged, what plan you are offered, or the terms of the subscription. If you visited the vendor's website directly instead, your price would be the same and this site would earn nothing.

Which links are paid

Every link on this site that points to securedeal.pro is a paid link to TotalAV. Each one is labelled where it appears, carries the rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" attribute in its markup, and opens in a new tab. The destination address is written directly into the link, so your browser shows you where it goes before you click, and it is the same address for every reader — nothing on this site redirects, rewrites or disguises where a link leads.

Paid links currently appear on the home page, on how to choose antivirus software in Australia, on comparing antivirus features, and on the TotalAV overview. Links to Australian government services, and links between pages of this site, are ordinary unpaid links and earn nothing.

What commission determines

It determines which product is covered. TotalAV appears throughout this site because it is the product the publisher has a commercial arrangement with; another product with no such arrangement would not appear in the worked examples. That is the honest answer, and it is a real limitation on the site's usefulness that you should weigh when reading it.

What commission does not determine

It does not determine what is written about the product. Nothing on this site is paid for sentence by sentence, no vendor reviews these pages before publication, and no vendor has approval over their content.

It does not produce a ranking, because this site publishes no ranking. There is no ordered list of best products here, paid or otherwise, and no scores, no star ratings and no awards. Ordering within pages follows the logic of the guide — requirement first, then comparison, then purchase — not any commercial preference.

It does not buy claims the site cannot support. Product statements here are limited to what the vendor itself publishes: that TotalAV is consumer antivirus and device-security software, sold by subscription, with applications for Windows, macOS and Linux computers, Android and iOS mobile devices, and tablets, available to customers in Australia. The site publishes no prices, no discounts, no detection rates and no performance figures for it, because it has none it can stand behind.

What determines coverage instead

Within the constraint above, three rules decide what appears and in what order. Pages are built around the questions an Australian buyer actually has to answer, in the order the decision is made. General claims about law, risk or regulators link to the Australian body that states them, so you can check them. And where a fact would require testing this publisher has not carried out, the page says nothing rather than borrowing a figure from elsewhere. The about page sets this out in more detail.

Why the disclosure appears three times

A disclosure that only exists on a page nobody visits is not a disclosure. On this site it appears in the upper part of the home page, next to every paid link wherever one occurs, and on this page in full. That is the standard we hold ourselves to regardless of what any particular platform requires, because a reader deciding whether to trust a recommendation should not have to go looking for the reason it was made.

Your position as a consumer

A paid link does not affect your rights. Software bought by a consumer in Australia comes with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, which apply regardless of how you arrived at the vendor's site and cannot be contracted out of. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission publishes guidance on those guarantees and on what to do when a business will not resolve a complaint. Your subscription contract is with the vendor, not with this publisher; the terms page sets out the limits of the publisher's role.
